2024 – 2025

Every other year, we take a trip!  Both bands will participate in a Solo and Ensemble competition and/or a full band performance in front of judges. After our performance(s), we have fun for the remainder of the day.  The cost of the 2024 – 2025 trip is as follows:

ALL Bands $125 per student:  Lubbock, TX to attend the Irons Invitational on Saturday May 10, 2025.

Our final price will include:

  • Transportation costs to and from our destination (MISD motorcoaches with 6 total drivers included)
  • Entry fees for the full band competition
  • Breakfast on bus, lunch, and dinner
  • Activities held throughout the day
    • Main Event
    • Time Crunch Escapes

Students may bring their own spending money for snacks if time allows.

Families and students, please understand that since this is a competition (a performance in front of judges with awards/trophies given), the expectation is that ALL students who are in the San Jacinto Band Program be present for this event. With this being said, payment will be required since the Booster Club will be making payments far in advance.

Students must pay/fundraise their band fee and participate in the UIL/Spring Concert in order to go on the Spring Trip Competition.

Requirements for Spring Trip

  • Honor Band students must participate in the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation.
  • Student must pass ALL classes the 6 Week Grading Period BEFORE the trip in order to be eligible to participate.
  • Student must attend required performances and rehearsals.
  • Student must participate in SJ Band Booster fundraisers and/or have all fees paid.
  • Full Spring Trip Competition Fee, Instrument Rental Fee (if renting instrument from San Jacinto Band), and Band Dues
  • All students attending the trip must attend a required meeting with their parent/guardian to fill out required forms. Info regarding meeting date/time/location along with forms will be announced soon.
  • All chaperones must attend a chaperone meeting following the general meeting (listed above) to prepare for the trip. Info regarding meeting date/time/location along with forms will be announced soon.
